Will the competition between European Music collecting societies be at the cost of the musical author?
Composers Club

The top managements of the European Commision for internal market resp.competition is determined to ignite competition between European Music collection societies to make the repertoire of the musical author cheaper. In the process, the tried and proven reciprocal agreements between the collecting societies are being put under enormous strain. Important cultural aspects, such as “cultural diversity” - a topic clearly supported at UNESCO-convention, are in grave danger of being totally ignored in favor of a totally economical focus. Will the musical author have to foot the bill because the powers-that-be fail to recognized the importance of retaining the economic and social-cultural double-role of the collection societies?

The subject of this top-class panel discussion is, due to recent developments, an important theme for all musical authors.
