“Switzerland, a country with a small surface area...
divided on one hand by its specific culture and on the other by its
many languages: German, French, Romany, Italian and English, is not
however, isolated from the development and creative influence of Europe.
On the contrary, it seemed normal and it was with great motivation, that
the Union of Film Music Composers/UFMC Switzerland became a
foundingmember of the Federation of Film and Audiovisual Composers
of Europe. With our friends and European partners, the UFMC is fully
committed to an active participation in the instauration of common
procedures for the promotion, protection, assistance and the improvement
of working conditions for film music composers in Europe.
Only a re-grouping within a federal organisation will allow us to face our
common future and the many issues that await us; gaining respect for our
profession and moving towards film music without borders, rich in its diversity.
The major objectives of the UCMF Switzerland are to let you discover its
talented composers and to bring to the federation a solid dynamism, free
from the rigid layers of the Hollywood system; participating fully in the
affirmation of a real European identity for film music.
